Barack Hussein Obama II, 44th President of the United States of America

Today is a historic day. In about three hours at 12 noon Washington DC time, Barack Obama will become the next president of the United States.

The anticipation of "change" is palpable everywhere and the people of America and most of the world are waiting for the actions of the new president. While there is much optimism because of the new day, the news of the past months if not years, has been grim and downright saddening. The economy, conflicts in many regions of the world, and human suffering are the recent headlines.

The hard work starts today.

President-elect Obama said on January 8, 2009, "It will not come easy or happen overnight, and it is altogether likely that things may get worse before they get better." Let's hope that when we read the news from January 20, 2013 or January 20, 2017, things are better.

Snowy is also wishing all the best for the new dog of the Obama family. Dogs are our best friends and have the ability to make us smile even when there is so much stress and trouble around us. The Presidency is a tough job and no doubt the new dog will be a great addition to their family.

Of course if they can't find a suitable dog or need some extra smiling help, Snowy is more than willing to lend his services and offer games of fetch, rub my belly, and sneeze on command. Rumors around the dog circles are that they are considering lots of breeds and many are poodle-type mixes. We think, especially as poodle owners, that a poodle would look great in the white house. Are you listening President Obama?

Happy 2009

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

Snowy enjoyed playing (rolling around) with the confetti we used to get this shot. Full disclosure: this picture is actually from a year ago, but since the silly hat didn't have a year on it, it got recycled... We learned that confetti is really hard to get out of fabric, like carpet, so it should only be brought out on rare occasions. Basically it made a mess and even our powerful vacuum didn't get it out.

We hope you all had a safe and fun end to 2008.

Pink, green, orange, red, and white....

It's Snowy the color changing dog...
Photos of him in rather "unnatural" colors can be found in the Palette Gallery. I guess a blue or purple is next, but that may have to wait a while. His best color is probably white anyway.

Blog On, Comment On

We did a bunch of things under the hood of the site. This blog is now integrated with the rest of the web page and the "Contact Us" section is finally working. Messages posted on that page go to our email box directly. Of course you can comment here too and those are seen by all when you post.

I hope the links on the right side of the blog make it easy to see the latest updates and what's new. So far, Snowy's latest travels are featured as well as photos of his awesome dog pals.

Coming soon: all the colors of Snowy (pink, green, orange, red, (blue?)..... your screen colors are not messed up!) in the Palette Gallery and the rest of his outfits and more formal studio-type photos.

POODLIST.com Website Updates

We made a lot of updates to the website.

The homepage images have been changed, and in the spirit of the holiday season, the primary image is of Snowy wearing a Santa hat.

Over the next two weeks, the empty galleries will be filled with photos and the existing galleries will be updated to the latest version of the gallery template.

We will keep you posted here.
